Škoda and Upstream team up to boost cybersecurity for connected vehicles
Press Release, 14 January 2026
Škoda Auto has announced a strategic collaboration with automotive cybersecurity firm Upstream to significantly strengthen the protection of its connected vehicle ecosystem. As modern vehicles rely increasingly on digital services, cloud systems and connected infrastructure, safeguarding these environments against cyber threats has become a top priority for automakers. Through this partnership, Škoda aims to improve its ability to spot and manage cyber risks early, speed up internal cooperation and simplify compliance with evolving global standards like UNECE WP.29 R155 and ISO/SAE 21434.
At the heart of the collaboration is Upstream’s cloud-based security platform, which brings together cyber threat intelligence, risk signals and other crucial data into one unified workspace that can be accessed across teams. This consolidated environment helps Škoda’s cybersecurity and engineering professionals share insights, document findings, and communicate more effectively, reducing the time and effort previously spent on manual reporting and coordination. The platform also helps organize evidence, actions and documentation in ways that make regulatory reviews more manageable, enhancing overall situational awareness across Škoda’s connected vehicles and digital services.
Miroslav Sivous, Škoda’s threat intelligence expert, highlighted that this proactive approach gives the company greater visibility and confidence to act ahead of potential issues, while aligning with compliance requirements. Upstream’s CEO Yoav Levy praised Škoda’s forward-looking stance on cybersecurity, noting that the partnership sets a strong example for other manufacturers in improving resilience and operational efficiency. By centralizing cyber risk insights and streamlining communication, Škoda is better equipped to face the complex challenges of securing connected and digital vehicle ecosystems as they grow in number and capability.
