Visteon unveils production-ready high-performance compute for next-gen cockpits
Press Release, 12 January 2026
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Visteon Corporation revealed a fully production-ready High-Performance Compute (HPC) solution built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon® Cockpit Elite platform, marking a major step forward in intelligent automotive cockpit technology. This system, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm, is now being demonstrated with several global automakers and signals a shift toward centralized computing architectures that power responsive, AI-enhanced in-vehicle experiences.
As vehicles move to software-defined platforms, the demand for high-resolution, adaptive interfaces is rising. Visteon’s new HPC solution meets this need by combining a custom Qualcomm Oryon™ CPU with a powerful Adreno™ GPU, delivering about three times the overall performance and twelve times the AI processing performance compared to earlier cockpit systems. This leap enables real-time intelligence and personalization directly on the vehicle no cloud dependency needed allowing the cockpit to adapt to each driver’s preferences and usage patterns.
A standout feature is cognitoAI™ Concierge, Visteon’s on-device generative AI assistant powered by the QWEN 7B model, which delivers tailored content and services for drivers and passengers alike. The system supports advanced multi-user profiles, concurrent gaming, and targeted device streaming, as well as immersive audio experiences with Dolby Audio across more than 24 speakers. The goal is to make the in-car environment more intuitive, engaging and deeply personalized.
Beyond performance, the platform is designed to help automakers simplify vehicle electronics. By consolidating multiple electronic control units (ECUs) into a single, high-power compute module, OEMs can reduce system complexity and achieve long-term cost savings a crucial advantage as car makers transition to next-generation architectures. Visteon and Qualcomm say this collaboration underscores their shared vision for scalable, software-defined vehicles that offer richer, smarter cockpit experiences while supporting global OEM deployment.
