Vietnamese EV-maker VinFast has opened its first manufacturing plant outside its home base in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

CEO Pham Sanh Chau offered an emotional and strategic outlook at the inauguration:
“The VinFast Tamil Nadu plant marks a strategic milestone in our long‑term commitment to the Indian market… we aim to develop it into VinFast’s largest export hub for South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.”.
VinFast has already received export orders from countries such as Sri Lanka and Mauritius, underlining its ambition.
