Stellantis + Bolt team up to bring driverless ride-hailing to Europe
Press Release, 10 December 2025
The automotive group Stellantis and ride-hailing platform Bolt today announced a joint plan to roll out fully driverless, Level-4 autonomous vehicles across Europe. The collaboration will combine Stellantis’ purpose-built “AV-Ready Platforms” — including the eK0 medium-van and STLA Small chassis — with Bolt’s large mobility network, which currently serves more than 200 million users across 50+ countries.
The first test vehicles are expected to hit European roads in 2026, followed by pilot-fleet trials and, eventually, industrial-scale production targeted around 2029. Bolt aims to have up to 100,000 autonomous vehicles operating on its platform by 2035. Both companies emphasise their commitment to meeting Europe’s toughest safety, cybersecurity, and data-protection standards as they work with regulators on testing, certification, and deployment.
This alliance marks a major step toward mainstreaming driverless mobility in Europe — blending Stellantis’ engineering and AV-ready designs with Bolt’s large shared-mobility footprint. If successful, it could reshape how people move in cities — with fully autonomous ride-hailing becoming part of everyday urban transport.
