KPIT acquires N-Dream to power next-gen in-car digital experiences

Press Release, 16 October 2025

KPIT Technologies has taken a controlling stake in Swiss startup N-Dream AG, the creator of the in-car gaming platform AirConsole, boosting its ownership from 26% to nearly 90%.This strategic move aims to deepen KPIT’s presence in the software-defined vehicle arena by integrating immersive digital experiences directly into the vehicle cabin.

Since its entry into automotive applications in 2022, AirConsole has enabled passengers to turn their smartphones into controllers and play games on the car’s infotainment system, with full support for sound and ambient lighting. The platform is already being used by major automakers such as BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, MINI, and Porsche. Under the acquisition, N-Dream will remain operationally independent, with founder Andrin von Rechenberg and Anthony Cliquot continuing as Chief of Innovation and CEO respectively.

KPIT’s CEO, Kishor Patil, described the move as a defining step toward future vehicles that aren’t just mobile but also “immersive, connected, and personalized.” With this, KPIT and N-Dream plan to expand AirConsole beyond gaming—delivering a broader suite of interactive software and connected cabin services across global automotive brands.

In effect, KPIT is positioning itself not just as a player in the vehicle control software domain, but as an enabler of in-car digital experiences—turning every ride into an opportunity for entertainment, connectivity, and personalization.
