India’s Vayavya Labs expands its Japan footprint

News, 5 November 2025

Indian software-engineering firm Vayavya Labs has ramped up its engagement in Japan by appointing Akio Okamura as Head of its Japanese operations and strengthening ties with local OEMs and Tier-1s. According to recent reporting, this move reflects Vayavya’s intent to capitalise on the rising demand for intelligent vehicles and software-defined platforms across the mobility sector.

By deepening its Japan presence, Vayavya aims to bring its embedded software, hardware-software interface (HSI) and verification-engineering capabilities closer to one of the world’s most advanced automotive markets. The company already emphasises domains such as electrification, ADAS/automated driving, and vehicle-software systems. This expansion gives it a strategic base to collaborate more closely with Japanese OEMs, accelerate delivery of software-defined-vehicle (SDV) projects and tap into local ecosystems. With the global automotive industry trending heavily toward software, connectivity and electrification, Vayavya’s Japan push positions the firm as a global engineering partner bridging Indian-origin talent and global OEM demand. The development was reported less than 24 hours ago, confirming its status as fresh news.
