Hyundai Motor Group partners with Vodafone IoT
Press Release, 5 February 2026
Hyundai Motor Group including its Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands has struck a strategic partnership with Vodafone IoT to roll out connected car services across five key Middle Eastern markets: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Under this collaboration, Vodafone IoT will provide secure, compliant in-car connectivity using its Global SIM+ technology, which dynamically transforms a global IoT SIM into a local SIM to meet region-specific telecom regulations. This ensures that connected features work seamlessly across borders while adhering to each country’s regulatory framework.
The partnership focuses on delivering a robust digital experience for drivers in the region by enabling connectivity-based features such as remote vehicle control, real-time status monitoring, and enhanced convenience services that make managing vehicles more intuitive and responsive. Working with local network partners including e& in the UAE strengthens network coverage, reliability, and compliance, which is essential in markets with strict regulatory requirements. With a centralized managed connectivity platform from Vodafone IoT, Hyundai Motor Group can oversee its global Internet of Things (IoT) deployments from a single interface, simplifying operations while expanding its software-defined vehicle strategy. Hyundai sees this move as a meaningful step toward offering tailored digital mobility experiences that deepen the relationship between drivers and their vehicles. Both companies also plan to extend the connected car deployment to additional countries across the Middle East and Africa in the future, signaling a broader push to redefine connected mobility in emerging markets.
