Maruti Suzuki onboards five startups to drive AI, EV and safety innovations across operations

Press Release, 2 February 2026

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has strengthened its focus on technology-driven transformation by onboarding five early-stage startups under the fourth cohort of its Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program (MSIP). The initiative, run in collaboration with IIM Bangalore’s NSRCEL, aims to co-create next-generation solutions that enhance manufacturing precision, workplace safety, quality control, and sustainable mobility.

The five selected startups AugurAI, Aatral, Zen Mobility, Indus Vision, and Proxgy are working on innovative technologies spanning artificial intelligence, electric mobility, and IoT applications.

  • AugurAI and Indus Vision are developing AI-based visual inspection systems to identify defects in components and finished vehicles, ensuring consistent quality and reduced human error.
  • Aatral brings AI-assisted 3D digital validation to eliminate visual defects, enabling suppliers to achieve near-zero defect rates.
  • Zen Mobility promotes the use of electric vehicles for last-mile logistics, improving efficiency and sustainability in spare parts delivery.
  • Proxgy leverages smart wearables and IoT to enhance employee safety by predicting and preventing potential workplace incidents, especially in crane operations.

Commenting on the initiative, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Embedding new-age intelligent technologies across our operations is key to maintaining excellence and enabling agile, sustainable growth. These startups are helping us achieve higher precision in manufacturing, sustainable mobility solutions, and enhanced workplace safety.”

Anand Sri Ganesh, CEO of NSRCEL, highlighted the program’s impact, noting that it bridges the gap between innovation and real-world business application, giving startups exposure to complex industry challenges and scaling opportunities.

Over the past seven years, Maruti Suzuki’s innovation ecosystem has screened more than 6,400 startups, engaged with over 220, and onboarded 32 as long-term partners. Through initiatives like the Maruti Suzuki Accelerator, Mobility Challenge, and Nurture, the company continues to foster open innovation and shape the future of mobility in India.
