IIT Jammu & skill-lync team up to upskill engineers for future mobility
News, 12 January 2026
In a fresh push to prepare the next generation of engineers for India’s rapidly evolving automotive landscape, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has announced a strategic partnership with ed-tech specialist Skill-Lync to launch a suite of certificate programmes in future mobility engineering. This move comes amid growing industry demand for talent skilled in electrification, software-defined vehicles (SDVs), and high-tech mobility systems.
Under the collaboration, IIT Jammu’s Institute Incubation and Innovation Council (I3C) and Skill-Lync will co-design and deliver cutting-edge coursework that blends rigorous academic foundations with industry-validated, hands-on learning. The goal is to equip learners with practical skills in areas such as electric vehicle (EV) systems, embedded electronics, powertrain technologies, advanced manufacturing, and software-centric vehicle platforms.
Aspiring engineers can enrol through both Skill-Lync’s online platform and IIT Jammu’s official course listings. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate jointly issued by IIT Jammu, I3C–IIT Jammu, and Skill-Lync, giving them a credential backed by one of India’s premier technical institutes and a leading engineering education provider.
Skill-Lync has already engaged with over 80 automotive and mobility organisations, training more than 20,000 professionals across sectors such as EV design, software development, and embedded systems in the past three years insights from which have shaped the programme curriculum.
With major manufacturers like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and MG Motor India investing heavily in electric and connected vehicle technologies, the partnership aims to bridge the skills gap between traditional engineering education and real-world industry needs.
