BOE unveils HERO 2.0 smart cockpit at CES 2026
Press Release, 12 January 2026
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Chinese display giant BOE Technology Group introduced its next‑generation HERO 2.0 Smart Cockpit, marking a major leap in automotive display and in‑car interaction technologies. Positioned as a central element of BOE’s smart mobility vision, HERO 2.0 combines cutting‑edge display panels, multimodal interaction and AI‑powered controls to create a more immersive, intuitive cockpit experience for drivers and passengers. This global debut was part of BOE’s broader showcase of more than 60 advanced display and IoT solutions, underscoring the company’s commitment to driving innovation in both smart vehicles and green technology.
The HERO 2.0 Smart Cockpit redefines in‑vehicle interaction with a suite of high‑performance components and interaction modes designed for real‑world use. At its core is a Micro LED panoramic head‑up display (PHUD) with peak brightness reaching 50,000 nits, which supports AI‑driven voice and gesture control with up to 98 % recognition accuracy, enabling seamless command input without physical buttons. The system also integrates a 15.6‑inch automotive‑grade UB Cell central display that delivers exceptional contrast and low reflectivity, enhancing readability under various lighting conditions. HERO 2.0’s multimodal interaction spans multi‑touch, voice, vision and gesture control, offering users flexible ways to manage vehicle functions, infotainment and connected services from climate controls to smart‑home interfaces directly from the cockpit.
In addition to its advanced interaction features, BOE highlighted a range of green‑oriented innovations at the show. The company brought over 20 energy‑efficient display products, including IGZO panels that cut power consumption and carbon emissions nearly in half and highly efficient PHUD units that enhance luminous output with reduced energy draw. These products reflect BOE’s broader sustainability strategy under its “ONE (Open Next Earth)” brand, which embeds eco‑friendly principles across the display technology lifecycle from design and manufacturing to deployment in automotive and IoT ecosystems.
With the HERO 2.0 Smart Cockpit and its expanding portfolio of display solutions, BOE is shaping the future of smart, connected vehicles that blend performance, usability and sustainability on a global stage.
