Mobileye scores second major automaker for next-gen ADAS tech
Press Release, 6 January 2026
Mobileye has just announced a significant new partnership with a major U.S. automaker that will now use its Surround ADAS advanced driver-assistance technology powered by the EyeQ™6H chip as standard equipment across both mainstream and premium vehicle models. This marks the second top-10 global automaker to adopt Mobileye’s next-generation ADAS system, following a similar deal previously struck with the Volkswagen Group.
The system, which integrates up to 11 sensors including cameras and radars and processes all data through a single high-performance EyeQ6H chip, is designed to support hands-free, eyes-on driving on certain highways at speeds up to about 81 mph (130 kph). Beyond hands-free capabilities, it includes features like automated lane changes, highway traffic-jam assist, blind spot detection, pedestrian alerts, evasive-maneuver assist, driver monitoring, and optional automated parking. By consolidating multiple driving functions into one ECU and chip, Mobileye says it can help automakers reduce system costs while meeting rising regulatory and consumer expectations for advanced safety features.
Mobileye estimates that, with this new agreement, it will deliver more than 19 million EyeQ6H-based Surround ADAS systems in the coming years, with about 9 million units tied to this latest U.S. customer alongside previously announced programs. The move further strengthens Mobileye’s footprint in the ADAS market at a time when automakers around the world are increasingly equipping new vehicles with sophisticated driver-assist capabilities. Mobileye’s leadership says this momentum reflects broad industry demand for scalable, cost-effective ADAS technology that enhances safety and convenience without requiring full autonomous capability.
This development also comes with a positive market reaction, as investors view the expanded adoption of Mobileye’s technology by major manufacturers as a catalyst for future growth.
