HERE Technologies and Qualcomm to showcase AI-powered map intelligence for safer automated driving at CES 2026
Press Release, 5 January 2025
At CES 2026, HERE Technologies, leader in digital mapping and location data, will demonstrate how its AI-powered map intelligence can enhance advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving (AD). The company’s technology will be featured at Qualcomm Technologies’ booth (West Hall, #5600), integrated with the Snapdragon Ride™ Pilot system to showcase the future of safer and more intuitive driving.
The collaboration between HERE and Qualcomm highlights how combining precise location intelligence with high-performance compute platforms can take automated driving beyond sensor-based awareness. By creating a detailed “e-horizon,” HERE’s map data enables vehicles to anticipate upcoming road features such as curves, junctions, and lane changes—beyond the reach of cameras and radar. This extended foresight can significantly improve driving predictability and safety, especially in complex highway and urban environments.
The demo will also highlight HERE’s lane-level mapping accuracy, offering smoother navigation and better vehicle control for Level 2+ automation, including Navigation on Autopilot (NOA). HERE’s ADAS map currently covers 60 countries and is on track to expand to more than 100 by 2026, ensuring global consistency for automakers. With over-the-air updates, the system stays compliant with evolving global safety regulations, including Europe’s Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) and NCAP requirements.
“Automated driving works best when onboard sensors and location intelligence operate hand in hand,” said Remco Timmer, SVP and Head of Automotive Solutions at HERE Technologies. “Our AI-powered maps provide foresight that sensors alone can’t, enabling safer and smarter mobility.”
Anshuman Saxena, VP and GM of ADAS & Robotics at Qualcomm Technologies, added, “HERE’s map intelligence enhances what sensors can see, bringing valuable insight that improves confidence and scalability in automated driving.”
By pairing HERE’s real-time, AI-driven map data with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride Pilot, the companies aim to redefine the standards of safety and intelligence in next-generation autonomous mobility.
