Blue Cloud & ConnectM Ink $50M deal to build EdgeAI cybersecurity chips

News, 1 January 2026

In a significant move toward strengthening automotive cybersecurity, Blue Cloud Softech Solutions and ConnectM Technology Solutions have signed a memorandum of understanding valued at approximately $50 million to co-develop a cutting-edge semiconductor platform tailored for connected and electric vehicles.

Under the deal, the two companies will collaborate on an EdgeAI system-on-chip (SoC) with built-in advanced security capabilities such as real-time threat detection, intrusion prevention, and continuous cybersecurity management. The aim is to embed robust defenses directly into critical vehicle electronics, including Telematics Control Units (TCUs) and Vehicle Control Units (VCUs) components at the heart of modern connected vehicles.

Blue Cloud Softech, known for its AI-centric enterprise and cybersecurity solutions, will lead the architecture, design, and development of the semiconductor, while ConnectM with its expertise in automotive-grade hardware and system integration will focus on bringing the platform into production-ready form and integrating it into vehicle systems.

The partnership reflects a strategic response to the rising cybersecurity challenges associated with software-defined vehicles and connected mobility, where the attack surface continues to expand with greater connectivity and data exchange. By building security at the silicon level, these EdgeAI chips could help manufacturers detect and neutralize threats in real time, rather than relying solely on software-based protections that can be bypassed.

Both companies plan to ensure the new SoC adheres to international safety and cybersecurity standards, such as ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE WP.29 R155/R156, which are increasingly required for global automotive deployments.

Financially, the projected $50 million deal covers expected business volumes from 2026 through 2030, driven by demand for secure compute platforms in EVs, connected cars, and future autonomous systems. This move not only expands Blue Cloud’s footprint into automotive semiconductors but also signals broader industry recognition of cybersecurity as a foundational element of next-generation vehicle electronics.
