Panasonic Automotive Systems rebrands to Mobitera
Press Release, 17 December 2025
Panasonic Automotive Systems, a global supplier of in-vehicle technology, has announced a strategic rebranding that marks a new chapter in its vision for mobility. Starting April 1, 2027, the company will adopt the new name Mobitera Inc. and introduce a refreshed brand identity including a new logo and corporate philosophy designed to better reflect its evolving mission in tomorrow’s connected, sustainable mobility ecosystem.
The name Mobitera blends “mobility” with the Latin word iter (meaning “path”) and the Japanese terasu (“to illuminate”), symbolizing the company’s goal to light the way forward in automotive innovation while keeping people at the heart of its efforts. The new logo reinforces this people-centric focus, with a distinctive “i” at its center, representing the importance of individuals in every technology and experience it creates.
According to CEO Masashi Nagayasu, the rebrand is about more than a new name — it’s about aligning the company’s identity with its long-term purpose: building safe, comfortable, and sustainable mobility experiences that enhance everyday life.
This shift comes as part of Panasonic Automotive Systems’ broader strategic evolution, including a partnership with the Apollo Group to boost software development and in-vehicle cockpit technologies. Along with the name change, subsidiaries around the world from North America to Asia Pacific and Europe will update their corporate identities to adopt the Mobitera brand, solidifying a unified global presence.
With this rebrand, Mobitera aims to position itself at the forefront of the rapidly changing mobility landscape from advanced digital cockpits to sustainable solutions while holding onto its foundational values of quality, innovation, and human-centric design.
