MediaTek builds on-premises AI factory with NVIDIA to supercharge AI innovation
Press Release, 15 December 2025
MediaTek is dramatically stepping up its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities by launching a high-performance, on-premises AI factory built on NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD infrastructure, designed to accelerate the development and deployment of large language models (LLMs) and next-generation AI technologies. As the Taiwanese chipmaker continues its evolution from a leading systems-on-chip (SoC) designer into a full-stack AI innovator, this new facility centralizes massive AI compute resources, enabling MediaTek to handle complex training and inference workloads more efficiently while safeguarding sensitive data and boosting R&D productivity.
At the heart of the setup, NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD — a scalable cluster of tightly-coupled GPUs — allows MediaTek to process enormous datasets, with the company reporting it can handle roughly 60 billion tokens per month for inference and thousands of model-training iterations every month. Traditional infrastructure struggled under these workloads, but the SuperPOD’s advanced architecture and NVIDIA’s optimized software stack — including TensorRT-LLM and NIM microservices — have delivered significant performance improvements such as up to 40% faster inference speeds and 60% higher token throughput. These gains have practical benefits across MediaTek’s operations, from speeding up AI-assisted code generation and automated design analysis to compressing documentation tasks that once took weeks into just days.
Beyond raw computational power, the integration with tools like NVIDIA Riva and DGX Spark enhances capabilities in speech recognition and natural language interaction, laying groundwork for richer AI features in future products. MediaTek’s AI factory not only strengthens its internal development workflows but also positions the company as a competitive force in AI hardware and software, with localized and secure infrastructure that supports rapid experimentation and deployment. As AI becomes central to devices ranging from smartphones to IoT and automotive platforms, MediaTek’s strategic investment in on-premises AI compute underscores its commitment to driving innovation and delivering intelligent experiences at scale.
