Cartrack & Volkswagen Group info services AG partner to streamline fleet data integration
Press Release, 25 November 2025
Global fleet-management player Cartrack has entered into a collaboration with Volkswagen Group Info Services AG (VGIS) to enable direct access to detailed vehicle data from six brands of the Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA) across Europe.
Under the agreement, fleet managers using Cartrack’s Software-as-a-Service operations cloud will be able to receive real-time vehicle diagnostics — including engine warning lights, mileage, fuel level and other onboard metrics — without installing extra hardware. Because the vehicles already contain embedded telematics, activation is remote and quick, and clients get immediate access to actionable data. This rich feed supports smarter maintenance scheduling, compliance with EU hours-of-service regulations, better driver safety and lower fuel-related costs — all while maintaining full compliance with Europe’s stringent data-protection laws (GDPR).
Cartrack’s COO, Richard Schubert, called the deal “a significant milestone in expanding our OEM-data ecosystem,” while VGIS’s lead for sales, Lasse Schmidt van Hülst, said the partnership brings “optimized efficiency, safety and sustainability” through combined vehicle-data and fleet-technology capabilities. With over 125,000 commercial customers globally, the move strengthens Cartrack’s position in mobility intelligence and underscores the growing role of real-time OEM data in fleet operations.
