LG Innotek gets award for automotive lighting module
Press Release, 11 November 2025
South Korea’s LG Innotek wins CES 2026 Innovation Awards for its newly developed “Ultra Thin Pixel Lighting Module”. This marks two years in a row that LG Innotek has received the award, following last year’s win for its “Nexlide A+” surface-light source front module.
The breakthrough module reduces thickness by approximately 71 % compared to traditional lighting units—measuring just 0.12 inches—and boosts luminous efficiency by 30 %. Rather than relying on bulkier plastic lenses and reflective components, LG Innotek uses a white-silicone reflective optical element that delivers uniform brightness and enables flexible, curved lighting designs. The module’s superior pixel density supports advanced vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication—allowing outward lighting displays of text or animations for safety or aesthetic purposes.
Looking ahead, mass production is targeted for the second half of 2027, with LG Innotek eyeing broader global distribution across North America, Europe and Japan. CEO Moon Hyuksoo noted that the back-to-back Innovation Awards reaffirm the company’s role as a key player in future mobility and lighting solutions.
