RoshAI- an Indian autonomous vehicle startup

Based in Kochi, India, RoshAI was formally founded in 2021 and is focused on developing vehicle-agnostic autonomy solutions — including full autonomy stacks, drive-by-wire retrofit kits, and tools for ADAS and autonomous vehicle testing. The roots of the company, however, trace back several years of robotics and deep-tech research in autonomous systems.

The two principal founders are Dr Roshy John, CEO, and Rajaram Moorthy, CTO. Dr John brings over two decades of experience in robotics and AI, and is widely recognised in India’s autonomous-mobility circles. Moorthy complements that with extensive engineering and autonomy systems experience.

What sets RoshAI’s autonomous-vehicle offering apart- They are developing vehicle-agnostic autonomy stack, meaning platforms for cars, trucks, buses or other vehicles can use their software/hardware suite. Their Retrofit drive-by-wire kits can convert conventional vehicles into automated ones — increasing flexibility and lowering barriers. Their testing has strong emphasis on real-world conditions, including challenging Indian road environments, mining, port operations and industrial fleets — giving them an edge in environments where traditional autonomy may struggle.

RoshAI is positioning itself not just as another player in autonomous vehicles, but as a flexible, industrial-ready platform provider bridging research, retrofit and a wide variety of vehicle types. That breadth and pragmatic focus makes it a company to watch in the automation and mobility revolution.
