OPMobility opens integrated plant in Maharashtra, sets sights on doubling India sales by 2030
Press Release, 8 October 2025
French automotive tech supplier OPMobility is making a bold expansion in India, launching a new integrated facility in Badhawaldi, Maharashtra, which will combine exterior systems and energy storage production—all in one site. This move is part of the company’s broader plan to more than double its Indian sales by 2030, supporting both domestic automakers and global exports.
In parallel, OPmobility has broken ground on another plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, slated to begin production in early 2026 and focused primarily on energy storage systems. With five plants and four R&D centers already operating in India, the company aims to add four more facilities before the decade ends.
CEO Laurent Favre emphasised India’s centrality in OPmobility’s strategy, citing its strong automotive growth trajectory and skilled workforce. He noted that OPmobility already supplies components to one in every two vehicles made in India—a testament to its deep integration in the local supply chain.
The new Maharashtra facility is OPmobility’s first in India to unify exterior systems and energy storage under a single roof, enabling tighter integration of critical components. As the global auto industry increasingly shifts toward electrification and modular architectures, such vertical integration gives OPmobility a competitive edge in responsiveness and efficiency.
OPmobility’s commitment in India doesn’t stop at factories. Its software arm, OP’nSoft, has already expanded operations in Bengaluru to bolster embedded systems and digital engineering capabilities. With global revenue of €11.6 billion in 2024 and operations spanning 150 plants and 40 R&D hubs, OPmobility is leveraging India to strengthen both its regional leadership and global competitiveness.
