Qnovo, Sonatus join forces to fast-track AI battery safety for EVs

Press Release, 7 October 2025

Qnovo has announced a new collaboration with Sonatus aimed at bringing AI-powered battery diagnostics more swiftly and deeply into electric vehicles. The tie-up merges Qnovo’s Health & Safety Diagnostics (HSD) software with Sonatus’ AI Director and software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform, enabling automotive makers to integrate advanced battery safety features in days rather than months.

The integrated system is claimed to predict battery faults with up to 98.7 percent accuracy, thanks to AI models that monitor multiple health indicators—such as lithium plating, thermal risk, and manufacturing defects—well ahead of conventional diagnostics. The alliance also allows updates over the air and contextual tuning based on environmental and usage factors. Qnovo brings to the table a decade of field-proven battery intelligence already deployed in millions of miles of real driving with zero safety incidents, while Sonatus contributes vehicle-level AI infrastructure already in mass production in millions of cars. Together, the companies hope to reduce engineering time and cost for OEMs, accelerate adoption of software-defined vehicle architectures, and boost battery safety across the electric mobility sector.
