Gauzy unveils next-gen AI camera system to boost bus safety
Press Release, 7 October 2025
At Busworld 2025, Gauzy introduced its Smart-Vision® Camera Monitor System (CMS) built for buses, bringing AI-powered safety and driver support to the road. This upgraded system is already installed relies on Ambarella’s CVflow AI chips — including the ASIL-C certified CV2FS — to deliver fast, reliable image processing.
What makes this system stand out is its combination of real-time object detection, adaptive visual overlays, and smart driver assistance features, all wrapped in high dynamic range imaging to handle varied lighting and weather conditions. It replaces traditional mirrors with AI-enabled cameras and displays, reduces blind spots, and includes built-in safety functions like Blind Spot Information (BSIS) and Moving Off Information (MOIS), in line with UNECE standards. The modular design allows integration across many bus types — from standard to articulated or double-deckers — and supports both new vehicles and retrofit upgrades.
Gauzy already counts over 20,000 buses worldwide using earlier Smart-Vision systems, with this launch marking its first OEM deployment of the next-generation model. Six Yutong buses have been equipped so far, with many more expected in coming months. In a market projected to grow from USD 13.8 billion in 2025 to USD 29.1 billion by 2030, Gauzy aims to carve out a strong position in the commercial vehicle ADAS sector.
With this AI-centric CMS platform, Gauzy is pushing forward safer and smarter bus operations — giving drivers clearer views, timely warnings, and better tools to avoid collisions without relying solely on mirrors.
