CLEPA joins EEA4CCAM to shape tomorrow’s connected car architecture

CLEPA—the European Association of Automotive Suppliers—has officially come aboard EEA4CCAM (Electrical and Electronic Architecture for Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility), a Horizon Europe initiative that will run from June 2025 through June 2028.  With a budget of nearly €6 million, EEA4CCAM aims to create a centralized, upgradable, cybersecure vehicle architecture to enable safer, interoperable deployment of future mobility applications.

In its role, CLEPA will steer stakeholder collaboration and clustering efforts, while actively contributing to standards development and outreach beyond Europe. This participation builds on CLEPA’s strong ties with the CCAM Partnership (Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility), underlining shared priorities such as harmonization, interoperability, safety, and cybersecurity for next-gen mobility infrastructure.

By embedding suppliers centrally in Europe’s shift toward smarter, safer, and more sustainable mobility, this move positions CLEPA members to influence the core architecture of “software-defined vehicles”—vehicles whose capabilities evolve via software updates rather than hardware changes
