TVS Motor launches global design and engineering hub in Italy
Press Release, 26 September 2025
TVS Motor Company has announced a major step in its global expansion strategy with the creation of a new Global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Design and Engineering in Bologna, Italy. As part of this initiative, the company has acquired full ownership of Engines Engineering S.p.A., a renowned Italian automotive design firm recognized for its advanced prototyping, racing expertise, and high-performance motorcycle innovation. This move strengthens TVS Motor’s global R&D capabilities and underlines its ambition to deliver premium, future-ready mobility solutions across international markets.
The CoE will function as an end-to-end innovation hub, combining TVS Motor’s extensive R&D network with Engines Engineering’s creativity and MotoGP-driven engineering strengths. It will accelerate the development of next-generation mobility platforms, reduce product development timelines, and enhance differentiation in premium two- and three-wheeler segments. The centre will also support Norton Motorcycles, TVS Motor’s British luxury brand, enabling it to craft cutting-edge motorcycles that honor its legacy while advancing into the modern era of performance and design.
Key focus areas for the CoE include digital simulation, modular platform development, rapid prototyping, and AI-powered design, alongside the use of advanced materials and connected vehicle technologies. TVS also aims to attract global talent and foster partnerships with universities, startups, and technology providers to drive disruptive innovation at scale.

Sudarshan Venu, Chairman of TVS Motor Company, emphasized that the new centre marks a milestone in reimagining mobility: “By uniting the expertise of Engines Engineering with our design strengths, we are better positioned to deliver premium, connected, and electric vehicles that set new global benchmarks.”
With this move, TVS Motor is set to expand its premium portfolio, from high-capacity motorcycles to advanced scooters and electric mobility platforms, further strengthening its presence in over 80 countries. The initiative reflects the company’s broader goal of improving quality of life worldwide through sustainable and compelling mobility solutions.
