VinFast has officially entered India’s EV market with two new electric SUVs the compact VF 6 and the larger VF 7 as it ramps up production and builds its dealer network. The cars are assembled at its new plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with initial rollouts already underway.
Pricing for the VF 6 starts at about ₹16.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the VF 7 begins around ₹20.89 lakh. There are multiple variants for each model: VF 6 offers “Earth”, “Wind”, and “Wind Infinity”; VF 7 adds “Sky” and “Sky Infinity” trims, with front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options in higher versions.
On performance, the VF 6 comes with a 59.6 kWh battery across its trims. Its basic version delivers around 174 hp and 250 Nm torque, while a higher variant gives about 201 hp and 310 Nm. Claimed range is in the ballpark of 380-400 km depending on variant. The VF 7 steps up with more powerful battery options (59.6 kWh / 70.8 kWh), and higher-end versions have AWD, delivering up to 500 Nm torque. Its range reaches over 500 km in select trims.
VinFast is also offering perks to entice buyers: free DC fast-charging at partner stations until mid-2028, free maintenance for the first three years, and solid battery warranties. It plans to have 35 dealerships & 26 workshops across 27 cities by end of 2025.
