JBM Electric Vehicles of India has entered a strategic partnership with UAE-based Al Habtoor Motors to launch its electric buses across the United Arab Emirates. Under the deal, Al Habtoor Motors will become the exclusive importer and distributor of JBM’s electric buses in the UAE, handling deployment, sales and service infrastructure. The move aligns with the UAE’s “Net Zero by 2050” plan and aims to modernize public transport through green mobility.
These e-buses will be offered for a variety of applications: urban transit, staff transport, school buses, airport tarmac duties, and intercity / tourist coach services. JBM brings its experience from India, where its integrated manufacturing facilities have a capacity to produce up to 20,000 electric buses per year. The collaboration is intended not just to reduce emissions and lower operating costs, but also to enhance passenger comfort and reliability in UAE’s transport sector.
Leaders on both sides see this as more than just a product launch. As JBM’s Nishant Arya put it, the UAE offers a strategic market to contribute to sustainable transport, and Pat Al Habtoor Motors’ CEO Ahmed Al Habtoor expressed ambition for their joint operation to rank among the top e-mobility players in the region. With this partnership, the UAE may soon see a significant shift as it accelerates adoption of clean public mobility solutions.
