Telenor IoT unveils “IoT Drive” — advanced connectivity for vehicles

Stockholm, Sweden. 8 September 2025

Telenor IoT, a frontrunner in IoT connectivity, on 8th September 2025, introduced IoT Drive, a purpose-built solution tailored for the complexities of the modern automotive landscape. Amid the shift toward software-defined vehicles, automakers are grappling with global connectivity management, evolving regulations, and delivering seamless in-car digital experiences—all while meeting soaring consumer expectations for consistent, high-quality infotainment.

Launching from a robust foundation of AI-enhanced network performance, transparent data management, and round-the-clock expert support, Telenor IoT is further augmenting its portfolio with IoT Drive. Complementing its established Managed Connectivity service, this offering is enhanced by Consumer Connect—an in-car platform that allows OEMs to deliver branded Wi-Fi, premium digital services, and data packages via API-based integration.

Designed for flexibility, IoT Drive supports both OEM-sponsored connectivity models and marketplace-driven approaches, enabling car manufacturers to adapt to diverse business strategies and consumer needs. This makes it easier for brands to deliver seamless digital experiences without compromising on control or regulatory compliance.

Reflecting on the milestone, Mats Lundquist, CEO of Telenor Connexion and Head of Telenor IoT, highlighted the company’s longstanding collaboration with leading automotive brands, saying that launching the dedicated automotive unit and now IoT Drive signals Telenor’s deep commitment to supporting the industry’s future. “Our success is tied to our customers’ success, which is why delivering reliable, expert-driven solutions is at the heart of everything we do,” he stated.

Since March 2025, Telenor IoT has been strengthening its automotive operations with a dedicated team to meet the escalating demands of connected mobility
