Netradyne introduces advanced drowsiness detection – a sophisticated road safety AI

India. 9th September 2025

Netradyne, a leader in AI-powered fleet safety solutions, has launched its flagship Driver•i D-450 video safety platform along with the new Driver Monitoring System (DMS) Sensor in India. Designed to address one of the most critical challenges in road safety—driver fatigue—the launch comes at a time when India is strengthening its transport safety regulations.

The D-450 system features four AI-enabled cameras that record and analyze 100% of driving time. It detects risky driving patterns, distractions, or fatigue in real time. The optional DMS Sensor, an in-cab accessory, specifically tracks eye movement to monitor alertness levels and recognize early signs of drowsiness.

This innovation aligns with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) mandate that requires Lane Departure Warning Systems (LDWS) and Driver Drowsiness & Attention Warning Systems (DDAWS) in commercial passenger vehicles from 2026. By addressing driver distraction, lane discipline, and fatigue, Netradyne’s solutions are built for compliance while enhancing safety standards.

The third-generation DMS technology, developed using years of sleep research and validated metrics like PERCLOS (Percentage of Eyelid Closure over Time), can identify early-stage fatigue and micro-sleeps—even in poor lighting or when drivers wear sunglasses. When paired with the D-450, fleets gain a comprehensive safety system that offers:

  • AI-driven driver monitoring & coaching: Instant detection of risky driving, supported by embedded AI and edge computing, ensures drivers receive real-time alerts and actionable feedback.
  • Early fatigue detection: Subtle signs such as prolonged blinks or slow eyelid closure trigger timely alerts, preventing accidents in high-risk sectors like passenger transport, hazardous goods movement, and long-haul trucking.
  • Positive reinforcement: Driver•i not only flags risks but also recognizes safe driving behavior, encouraging lasting improvement.
  • Driver scoring with GreenZone: A powerful scoring dashboard that equips fleet managers to track driver performance, design coaching programs, and incentivize safe driving.

“Netradyne is committed to transforming road safety with smarter technology,” said Teja Gudena, EVP-Technology at Netradyne. “The D-450 has set a global benchmark in AI-powered fleet monitoring, and the new DMS Sensor adds unmatched accuracy in fatigue detection. Together, they help Indian fleets save lives and stay ahead of evolving safety norms.”

Already trusted by thousands of fleets worldwide, Netradyne’s Driver•i with DMS Sensor brings Indian fleet operators a regulation-ready solution that reduces accidents, improves compliance, and empowers safer roads.
