Samsung display OLED tech for cars at IAA MOBILITY 2025
Press Release, 9 September 2025
Samsung Display is showcasing its latest innovations in automotive OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology at IAA MOBILITY 2025, the world’s largest mobility show happening in Munich from September 9–14. It’s the only panel manufacturer present, underlining its leadership in this space.
A highlight of their exhibition is a futuristic “digital cockpit” concept. This includes:
- A 10.25-inch moving cluster display that serves as the dashboard while driving and retracts when parked—saving space and enhancing interior style.
- A 34-inch split dashboard screen, combining two OLED panels (14.5-inch and 13.8-inch) that can display unified or separate content for driver and passenger.
- A 14.4-inch Flexible L-shaped curved display in the center console for easy access to key controls like climate settings—combining flexibility with aesthetics.
For rear passengers, Samsung is introducing:
- A 9.4-inch round display, and
- A large rooftop OLED screen (32:9 aspect ratio) that shows useful info like temperature and distance on the sides, and entertainment in the center.
They also highlight Fold Magic Pixel™ (FMP) tech, which limits screen visibility from side angles so that rear screen visibility doesn’t distract the driver. The system can adjust automatically when switching between manual and autonomous driving.
Finally, Samsung demonstrates why OLED is better than Mini LED with side-by-side comparisons. OLEDs are thinner, can be shaped freely, and offer superior image quality—think curved or rounded designs that blend seamlessly into car interiors.
In a nutshell, Samsung Display is setting the stage for a new era of car interiors—sleek, smart, and immersive, powered by cutting-edge OLED technology.
