India’s first ADAS testing track nearing completion, says ARAI
News, 4 September 2025
The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) announced that construction of the country’s first dedicated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) testing track is over 90% complete.
Named the ‘ADAS Test City’, the facility spans 20 acres in Takwe near Talegaon, Pune, and is designed as a pseudo city replicating Indian road networks. It is expected to be ready in time for the ADAS Show on December 12, where the track will be officially showcased.
The facility will allow the automotive industry to test and validate ADAS technologies in a safe, controlled, and repeatable environment, ensuring their effectiveness under real-world Indian driving conditions. It is also the first dedicated road network in India built exclusively for ADAS validation under “on-road” conditions.
ADAS features include systems such as blind spot detection, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking, which enhance road safety by assisting drivers.
The ADAS Show, organised by Aayera, will bring together government officials, automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and technology innovators. ARAI will host live demonstrations at the event, highlighting its advanced testing and certification capabilities and inviting industry stakeholders to test their vehicles and solutions at the facility.
