Kia joins hands with ASDC to develop talent pool for automotive industry

Press Release, 14 August 2025

Automaker Kia India on 11 August said it has inked a pact with Automotive Skill Development Council signifies a strategic move to cultivate a skilled workforce for the evolving automotive sector in India. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to bridge the talent gap and promote industry-academia collaboration.

The initiative focuses on developing a robust talent pipeline through structured training and certification programs. A key emphasis of this collaboration is on electric vehicle (EV) adoption and enhancing customer experience, both crucial for India’s mobility transformation. The program includes a 30-day training module that combines classroom learning with practical, on-the-job experience at authorized Kia dealerships. This curriculum ensures that candidates gain both technical expertise and workplace readiness.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a joint certification from Kia India and ASDC, making them eligible for direct recruitment into sales and service roles at Kia dealerships. This not only provides meaningful employment opportunities for Indian youth but also strengthens Kia’s dealer network with skilled professionals who align with the company’s values. This partnership is a proactive step by Kia to address the changing demands of the automotive industry, particularly with the rise of EVs and the increasing importance of customer service.

With EV adoption and customer experience playing a central role in India’s mobility transformation, this joint effort is expected to significantly boost workforce readiness in these critical areas, the automaker said in a statement.
