Motive launches ‘Positive Driving’ an AI model for positive driver behavior detection

Motive has launched “Positive Driving,” designed to identify and encourage positive driver behaviors. This new feature aims to revolutionize fleet safety culture by automatically detecting exemplary actions such as quick obstacle avoidance and maintaining safe following distances, even when faced with sudden lane changes.

“Positive Driving” provides fleet managers with valuable insights, enabling them to conduct more effective coaching sessions that not only address safety but also acknowledge and reward drivers’ good practices. The AI model identifies smart driving behaviors, which are then promptly validated by Motive’s safety team. This global offering complements Motive’s existing unsafe behavior detection, providing a comprehensive overview of driver performance.

Key insights available on the Motive Dashboard include “Alert Driving,” which recognizes rapid responses to unexpected obstructions, and “Safe Distancing,” which detects instances where drivers create a safe following distance after being cut off. Motive emphasizes that this model redefines the use of AI Dashcams in fleet operations by automating the identification and recognition of safe driving, eliminating the need for manual footage review and allowing managers to efficiently reinforce positive behaviors.

Hemant Banavar, Motive’s Chief Product Officer, stated that “Positive Driving” empowers companies to easily acknowledge exceptional on-road performance, fostering trust and boosting employee engagement.

In related news, Motive recently acquired InceptEV, a software startup specializing in advanced battery intelligence. This acquisition will integrate patented battery software into Motive’s Integrated Operations Platform, offering operations managers precise insights into electric vehicle (EV) performance. Motive serves over 100,000 clients, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises, across diverse sectors including transportation, construction, logistics, energy, manufacturing, and more.
