Ola Electric has rolled out MoveOS 5—a software upgrade aimed at transforming the riding experience for electric two-wheelers. Designed in-house, MoveOS 5 is available as an over-the-air (OTA) update for the S1 scooter series and the new Roadster X motorcycles, ushering in a new era for EV software and user engagement.
This significant update introduces over 50 new features to enhance performance, reliability, and range. Among these innovations is the DIY Mode, allowing riders to personalize their vehicle’s settings, including top speed, power delivery, throttle response, and regenerative braking, based on their preferences. Road-Trip Mode is another game-changer, simplifying group rides with real-time coordination and tracking through Ola Maps. It offers multi-stop route planning, instant or scheduled trip starts, and live location sharing for improved safety and synchronization. Additionally, Easy Park aids users in navigating tight parking spaces, facilitating controlled, low-speed movement both forward and backward for better maneuverability.
MoveOS 5 prioritizes robust safety features and enhanced connectivity. Features such as Live Location Sharing and SOS Alerts give riders the ability to share their real-time location with selected contacts and instantly alert emergency contacts if needed. The Notification Centre streams essential updates from selected apps directly to the scooter’s human-machine interface (HMI), ensuring riders stay informed without distraction. For added utility and entertainment, new infotainment widgets like the Cricket and Weather Widgets deliver live sports scores and weather updates during rides.
Under the hood, the update optimizes the in-house Motor Control Unit (MCU) and enhances battery management systems, further improving performance, battery health, and energy efficiency. This results in a smoother, more responsive ride with extended range for all generations of Ola Electric vehicles.
