Accenture and IIT Madras collaborate to enhance SDV workforce skills
News, 1 July 2025
Accenture and IIT Madras’s Centre of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR) are collaborating to address the growing skills gap in automotive software. Their partnership, facilitated through Accenture’s LearnVantage Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Academy, will provide advanced skilling programs for engineers at automotive OEMs and Global Capability Centers (GCCs).
These learning modules integrate IIT Madras’s academic expertise with Accenture’s industry insights, offering both self-paced and instructor-led sessions. The comprehensive curriculum covers essential areas such as embedded systems, vehicle software, advanced IoT, automotive cybersecurity and safety, cloud virtualization, edge computing, communication protocols, and industry standards like AUTOSAR and ASPICE. The program is designed for current automotive technology professionals, aligning with the latest advancements in automated driving, in-vehicle connectivity, infotainment systems, and electrical/electronic architecture.
This initiative is crucial given that the automotive software-defined digital services market is expected to reach USD 3.5 trillion by 2040, making up 40% of automotive revenue, underscoring the critical need for widespread upskilling. By combining LearnVantage’s digital training infrastructure with CAAR’s specialized knowledge, the collaboration aims to cultivate talent proficient in automation, electrification, and mobility software.
This SDV skilling program builds upon existing collaborations between Accenture and IIT Madras, which include a Centre of Excellence exploring robotics, industrial IoT, digital twins, and advanced automotive technologies. Furthermore, TalentSprint, an education platform under LearnVantage, offers a post-graduate certification in Applied Data Science and Machine Learning with IIT Madras, further strengthening their industry-academia alignment.
