Hunter Engineering announces Subaru approval for Ultimate ADAS® alignment and calibration system
Press Release, 5 June 2025
Hunter Engineering recently announced that Subaru has approved Ultimate ADAS® for its US dealer and collision network.
Hunter Engineering’s Ultimate ADAS is designed to streamline and improve the accuracy of both wheel alignments and Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibrations. It’s an innovative solution that combines Hunter’s leading alignment technology with advanced features for ADAS work.
Some of its key features are:
- Integrated Alignment and ADAS Calibration: It allows technicians to perform both wheel alignments and static ADAS calibrations in the same bay, using the same equipment. This saves time and increases efficiency in a shop.
- Laser-Guided Target Placement: A key innovation is its use of gimbal-mounted lasers that “paint” the exact location where ADAS targets need to be placed around the vehicle. This replaces traditional, often imprecise methods like strings, plumb bobs, and tape measures, significantly cutting down setup time (by up to 70% for some procedures).
- Error-Proof Procedures: The system uses cameras and lasers to continuously monitor and confirm target placement. If an error is detected, it guides the technician back to the correct step, ensuring accuracy. It also automatically compensates for unlevel floors.
- Comprehensive Documentation: It provides fully-documented reports with easily understood graphics, showing confirmed placements and procedures. This not only helps communicate results to customers but also speeds up payment processes.
- Mobility and Flexibility: The system is designed to be mobile, allowing it to be easily moved to different workspaces within a shop, accommodating various calibration requirements and optimizing shop layout.
- OEM Approvals: Hunter’s Ultimate ADAS has received approvals from several major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) like Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, and recently Subaru, with more expected. This signifies its adherence to manufacturer specifications and quality.
- HunterNet® 2 Connectivity: It integrates with HunterNet® 2, Hunter’s customer portal, providing features like digital printout archiving, coverage lookup, and convenient ordering of ADAS targets and accessories.
Subaru becomes the fifth OEM to approve the alignment and static calibration system, joining Honda, Acura, Nissan and Infiniti, with additional approvals planned for additional approvals planned for 2025.
“It’s been exciting to partner with Subaru of America and Subaru Japan to approve Ultimate ADAS® for Subaru dealers,” said Kaleb Silver, Hunter Director, Product Management. “Subaru has been a leader in the ADAS market for many years, and Ultimate ADAS® gives their dealer and collision network access to the industry-leading ADAS calibration technology to service and document vehicles more efficiently.”
