Spiro Mobility and PG Electroplast (PGEL) have partnered exclusively to produce lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles (EVs) in India.
PGEL will oversee the procurement of parts and raw materials and manage production facilities, including EV manufacture, battery production, and component management, through its subsidiary, PG Technoplast. Spiro Mobility will concentrate on the EV development, marketing, sales, and distribution.
Vishal Gupta, PGEL’s managing director, views this partnership as a huge chance for expansion that would establish the business as a key force in India’s expanding EV sector. Additionally, Gupta emphasized how the collaboration may promote greater EV adoption in developing nations.
PGEL has some of the biggest manufacturing facilities in India and contributes invaluable experience in plastic injection moulding. The company serves the consumer durables and electronics industries with its current product line, which includes air coolers, washing machines, and room air conditioners. PGEL hopes to create new business prospects in the quickly growing EV sector by making this calculated move into EVs and lithium-ion batteries.
