Date: April 11, 2024. — Bounce Infinity, an Indian electric vehicle company, introduced liquid-cooled battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs), marking a significant advancement in the EV sector. This innovative technology has been incorporated into their E1 e-scooter model, which now boasts a real-world range of over 100 kilometers on a single charge. The company claims that this technology will significantly increase the driving range of EVs while also minimizing charging times.
The new battery system not only enhances the range but also supports fast charging, achieving up to 80% charge in just 45-50 minutes. Developed in collaboration with Clean Electric, the liquid-cooled battery aims to offer extended range, rapid charging capabilities, and an improved battery lifespan.
The E1 e-scooter equipped with this technology is available at a starting price of INR 99,210 (ex-showroom) across India. The portable nature of liquid-cooled batteries enables users to conveniently charge them at any standard 5 amp socket. Users can fast-charge them at 15 amp sockets commonly found in households.
The CEO & Co-Founder of Bounce Infinity, Vivekananda Hallekere, emphasized that this launch is a pivotal moment for the company and the Indian EV landscape. He stated that the portable and liquid-cooled batteries empower individuals to embrace EVs and experience the freedom of electric mobility.
The battery’s increased energy capacity stands at 2.5 kWh, delivering a range of 112-120 kilometers on a single charge. This is a significant improvement from the earlier 1.9 kWh battery offering an 85-kilometer range. Despite the advanced technology, the batteries maintain a competitive weight of approximately 14.5 kilograms.
This technological breakthrough, expects to set a global benchmark for safe electric scooters. It will also contribute to the acceleration of EV adoption in India and beyond.
