Date: February 17, 2024. — Sony India has launched a new car audio visual (AV) receiver, the XAV-AX8500, that offers a customizable experience with a large HD screen and various features for enhanced visual and audio performance. The XAV-AX8500 is priced at Rs 99,990 and will be available at select premium car dealers across India from February 20, 2024.
The XAV-AX8500 features a 25.7 cm (10.1) capacitive HD touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 720. The display features a bezel-less design and a distinctive tilt and swivel mechanism for manual adjustment of viewing angles. The display also has an anti-glare filter that reduces sunlight reflections and improves visibility.
The XAV-AX8500 supports wireless smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The user can use voice control to navigate, communicate and play music on the road even with the device in the pocket. The receiver also comes with a GPS antenna that enables accurate location services.
The XAV-AX8500 also boasts of exceptional sound quality with LDAC technology that enables wireless audio streaming with high-resolution audio. The receiver has a built-in DSP that offers sound processing and time alignment for each of the five addressable channels. The user can also adjust the sound with a 14-band EQ and a three-zone crossover.
The XAV-AX8500 also has HDMI input. This allows the user to hook up an external audio and visual source device or a compatible smartphone for viewing content when the car is parked. The receiver also has three-camera trigger inputs. This enables the user to connect a rear-view camera and two side-view cameras for enhanced safety and convenience.
The XAV-AX8500 design prioritizes environmental considerations and features a compact main chassis that minimizes the use of plastic and metal materials. The receiver also has simple button controls with an intuitive design that minimises driver distraction.
