New Delhi, India – September 14, 2023 – The Highway Heroes+ program is a significant attempt to recognize and honor the unsung heroes of India’s economy. It is launched by the All-India Transporters’ Welfare Association (AITWA) in partnership with Lawyered. This innovative program will drastically alter the lives of truck drivers, who support the economy of our nation.
Key Figures Applaud Success of Highway Heroes+ Initiative
Prominent members of Lawyered and AITWA celebrated the successful launch of the Highway Heroes+ campaign, marking a significant milestone. These executives presented their perspectives on the program. They expressed thanks for its accomplishments, which are expected to revolutionize the lives of Indian truck drivers.
The CEO and Founder of Lawyered, Himanshu Gupta, stated his joy for this partnership. He emphasized how it may benefit truck drivers all throughout the country.

- Sustainable Future: To address the declining number of truck drivers and guarantee that this field is still appealing to future generations
Salute to Jawan, Kisan, Saarthi, and Bharti! This revised tagline emphasizes the crucial role of truck drivers alongside our warriors and farmers. They captured the ethos of contemporary India.
The Highway Heroes+ card given at a nominal cost to truck drivers has the following main characteristics and advantages:
- Offering personal accident insurance up to 5 lakhs and personal accident hospitalization up to 1.5 lakhs. Additionally, providing a TTD of 1% of SI every week, up to a maximum of 100 weeks.
- 24/7 Helpline: Preventing official harassment, offering roadside legal aid, and enabling quick access to emergency services including ambulances, toll booths, and police stations.
- Financial Assistance: By providing a credit limit of up to ₹ 25,000 with ZERO% interest and ZERO processing costs through the partner mobile app.
- Access to AITWA-sponsored driver-specific camps, promotions, and events around the country.
On September 14, 2023, from 3 PM to 6 PM, AITWA, in collaboration with Lawyered, organized a celebration at the Indian Habitat Centre on Lodhi Road in New Delhi to commemorate the beginning of this revolutionary endeavor. Notably, Smt. Sumita Dawra, IAS, Special Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT, Government of India, and Guest of Honour Shri Madhusudan Agrawal, Honorary Consul General of The Republic of Uganda, Vice Chairman, Ajanta Pharma Limited, Chairman – Mamta Madhusudan Foundation, attended the event. Furthermore, Shri Susheel Gupta, CA, General Secretary, Sewa Bharti, Delhi, was the keynote speaker.
The first woman truck driver in India, Yogita Raghuvanshi, was honored for her revolutionary accomplishments together with other truck drivers. She narrated the difficulties she faces on highways and very confidently shared how corruption brews at every corner of India’s highways. Through the generous supporters of AITWA Highway Heroes+, an amount of ₹ 5 lacs was announced to support her future. AITWA also announced that all women truck drivers in India will receive the HH+ card & benefits free of cost.
IDFC First Bank has joined hands with Highway Heroes+ to support the education of daughters of truck drivers from grades 9 to 12. Additionally, AITWA announced that they registered 100 daughters on the launch date of this announcement.
