Tata Steel to Deploy Fleet Of Tigor EVs for Employee Transportation
Tata Steel has entered into partnership with Tata Motors to deploy 40 Tigor Electric Vehicles (EVs) for its employee transportation in Jamshedpur, the company announced.

Tata Motors is also proactively driving electric mobility in the country. To build a sustainable future for India, the company has been working collaboratively on various electric and hybrid vehicle solutions. The USD 44 billion organization is among the leading global automobile manufacturers of cars, utility vehicles, pick-ups, trucks and buses.
The first batch of Tigor EVs was handed over by the Tata Motors’ team to Tata Steel officials, at the company’s plant in Jamshedpur. With this, the company intends to cut down on the carbon emission and motivate its employees to switch to green public commuting habits.
Tata Tigor EV is powered by 16.2 kWh battery and has a 72 volt, three-phase AC induction motor that produces 40 bhp at 4500 rpm and 105 Nm of peak torque available at 2500 rpm. The company claims the car has a range of 142 km on a single charge, and takes about 90 minutes to charge up to 80 per cent via a DC 15 kW fast charger. It is offered in three variants – XE, XM and the XT, and is priced around 12 lacks.
