Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) and Ohmium International have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaboratively develop green hydrogen-powered microgrid solutions in India.
This collaboration will leverage Toyota’s proficiency in Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell technology alongside Ohmium’s efficient, modular PEM electrolyzer systems. Their joint efforts aim to create scalable and economically viable hydrogen microgrid solutions suitable for diverse applications, including remote areas, urban commercial spaces, and data centers. The partnership’s scope encompasses the entire development process: design, planning, prototype creation, testing, and comprehensive techno-economic feasibility studies.
The announcement of this initiative was attended by prominent figures such as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari (Road Transport and Highways), Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Minister, Environment and Industries, Govt. of NCT of Delhi). Representing Toyota Kirloskar were Vice Chairperson Manasi Tata Kirloskar and Deputy Managing Director Swapnesh R. Maru.
Ohmium contributes to the partnership with its factory-assembled PEM modules, which are engineered for swift deployment and integrate advanced power electronics and closed-loop cooling systems. The overarching goal of this partnership is to significantly improve the efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of green hydrogen-based energy solutions.
