Azimuth AI & Cyient Semiconductors launch ‘ARKA GKT-1’

News, 18 November 2025

India has taken a major leap in semiconductor innovation with the unveiling of the ARKA GKT-1, a first‐generation intelligent-power platform-on-a-chip developed jointly by Azimuth AI and Cyient Semiconductors. The chip is designed for edge AI and smart energy applications—combining multi-core custom computing, analog sensing, memory and power management in a single, energy-efficient System-on-Chip (SoC).

The launch, officiated by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, underscores India’s ambition to build a self-reliant semiconductor ecosystem and enter global design-value chains. The ARKA GKT-1 targets markets such as smart utilities, advanced metering, battery systems, smart cities and industrial automation—areas where power-aware silicon and intelligence at the edge are becoming critical.

Azimuth AI brings its Software-Defined Silicon architecture to the table, while Cyient Semiconductors contributes its mixed-signal, low-energy ASIC expertise—together delivering a platform built for flexibility and future growth in both domestic and export markets. This milestone is not only about a chip—but about positioning India as a credible player in advanced silicon design.
