ZETA education fund launches $1.3 Million campaign to highlight electric vehicle industry economic impact

Press Release, 16th October 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Zero Emission Transportation Association Education Fund (ZETA Education Fund) today launched a $1.3 million public education campaign designed to raise awareness about the positive economic impacts of the domestic electric vehicle (EV) industry. The campaign will raise awareness about economic activity and job growth resulting from investments in the EV supply chain, while also highlighting the growth of public charging infrastructure.

The cross-platform campaign will primarily focus on three states—Arizona, Georgia, and Tennessee—and their success in attracting a huge wave of recent investments in advanced manufacturing spanning the full EV and battery supply chain. ZETA Education Fund messages will be seen across multiple platforms, including digital billboards in airports, video and audio streaming services, and digital and social media. A primary focus will be on counties that are attracting a significant number of industry jobs.

The recent wave of investments in America’s battery and EV supply chain is providing an economic jolt across our country. It is driving demand for domestic critical mineral production, creating construction jobs to build factories and charging stations, and supporting millions of Americans in the electricity supply industry,” said Executive Director Albert Gore. “Arizona, Georgia, and Tennessee are at the heart of this recent growth, but internal ZETA polling shows that more needs to be done to inform residents about the jobs being created in their communities. People are proud that these products are being made in their states. Whether they drive an EV or not, this gives their community a big stake in securing supply chains and making the U.S. globally competitive. Through this campaign, the ZETA Education Fund will connect the dots and show how EV supply chain investments are creating opportunities for families across our country.”

The campaign will continue into Spring 2025, and is funded through the ZETA Education Fund as part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness of growth in local job markets resulting from increased EV manufacturing activity.
