Wistron and NXP signs MoU for joint lab

News, 17 December 2024

Wistron and NXP® Semiconductors announced the establishment of a joint laboratory. For almost a decade, Wistron has been actively engaged in the electric car sector. To speed up the creation of next-generation electrical and electronic (E/E) architectures for software defined vehicles (SDV), a joint lab will be built to provide a comprehensive verification and development environment.

With NXP‘s latest generation of automotive networking solutions, including the recently announced S32J and S32G vehicle network processors, the VR5510 PMIC, and S32K microcontrollers supported by the FS25 safety system base chip, the lab combines professional technical assistance with Wistron’s system integration expertise. Key automotive Ethernet technologies, including system compatibility testing, network security protection, and in-vehicle network architecture design, will be the focus of the lab’s research and development.

Wistron has vast experience with in-vehicle connectivity thanks to its key technologies of central control units and solutions related to on-board computer systems. Together with the benefits of NXP’s industrial ecosystem and technology, this partnership will provide a high-performance communication architecture for international automakers that satisfies the demands of SDVs in the future.
