VW Commercial Vehicles opts for premium tires from Continental as original equipment for the Caddy
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles equips the VW Caddy with premium tires from Continental ex works. The AllSeasonContact all-season tire and the EcoContact 6 summer tire have been approved. Both tire models are particularly optimized for rolling resistance and have received the highest rating A in the EU tire label owing to their particularly high energy efficiency.
Continental is one of the first tire manufacturers to succeed in developing an all-season tire that has obtained an EU tire label rating of A for energy efficiency. Technically speaking, this is a particular challenge, as Continental’s AllSeasonContact tire has to provide optimum grip and maximum safety in both summer and winter time. Therefore, the AllSeasonContact combines decisive elements of Continental’s premium summer and winter tires. In a recent all-season tire test conducted by the German automotive magazine Auto Bild (September 24, 2020), the AllSeasonContact tire received an “exemplary” rating for its all-round capabilities and good price-performance ratio.
In addition, Continental is supplying the EcoContact 6 for the Caddy, which is characterized by its energy efficiency, high mileage, braking performance as well as good handling. The EcoContact 6 offers reliable grip on dry and wet roads as well as very good cornering stability, even at high speeds. Thanks to the latest compound technologies, it features excellent deformation behavior. The EcoContact 6 recently demonstrated its energy efficiency in the Auto Zeitung summer tire test (issue 6/22). It won out against nine other products from European, Asian and American manufacturers in the rolling resistance test and was awarded the “Fuel-economy recommendation” award by the editorial team.
Continental also offers the WinterContact TS 870 for the VW Caddy at tire dealers. Thanks to its impressive handling characteristics in all weather conditions, short braking distances, steering precision and good safety reserves, the winter tire was most recently named test winner in the major winter tire test by Auto Bild (October 7, 2021).
