Valeo and ZEborne introduce Autocharge to simplify EV charging in workplaces and apartment buildings
12th March 2026
Automotive technology supplier Valeo has partnered with EV charging infrastructure specialist ZEborne to introduce a new Autocharge feature that simplifies the process of charging electric vehicles at workplaces and residential buildings. The system has been integrated into Valeo’s Ineez Pro Smart charging stations, enabling EV drivers to start charging automatically as soon as the vehicle is plugged in. Unlike traditional systems that require a mobile app, RFID badge, or manual authentication, the Autocharge feature identifies the vehicle digitally and initiates the charging session instantly, creating a seamless “plug-and-go” experience for users.
The innovation is aimed primarily at corporate fleets and shared parking facilities in apartment complexes, where managing charging access can often be complex. By automatically recognizing the vehicle through secure digital identification, the system eliminates issues such as lost charging cards, forgotten credentials, or the need for additional mobile applications. Once the vehicle is connected to the charger, the system authenticates the vehicle, starts the charging session, and automatically links the energy usage to the correct billing contract, whether personal or professional. This approach not only simplifies the charging experience for drivers but also reduces administrative workload for fleet managers and building operators managing multiple vehicles and users.
The technology also aligns with the broader shift toward Plug-and-Charge standards that are being adopted across Europe. Under the EU’s AFIR regulation, public charging infrastructure is increasingly required to support automated authentication protocols such as ISO 15118-2, which allows vehicles and charging stations to communicate securely and handle identification and billing automatically. By implementing similar principles in private charging environments, Valeo and ZEborne aim to deliver a consistent user experience across locations, whether charging at home, at the workplace, or on public highways.
The companies plan to showcase the Autocharge-enabled solution at the Flotauto trade show in Paris, marking what they describe as a first for the private EV charging infrastructure market in France. With the rollout already beginning across ZEborne-managed sites, the initiative highlights how automakers and technology suppliers are working to make electric vehicle charging more intuitive and accessible as EV adoption continues to accelerate globally.
