TKIL to produce green hydrogen

TKIL in talks with OMCs to manufacture green hydrogen, put up retail infra

Thyssenkrupp Industries India Pvt. Ltd., now known as TKIL, operates primarily in the field of engineering and manufacturing, particularly in the sectors of industrial machinery and equipment. Their areas of operation include:project engineering, steel and metal processing, cement and mineral processing, manufacturing components for power generation, and engineering solutions for the food processing and packaging industries.

TKIL has acquired 26% stake in the Belgian company Sohhytec SA in March 2021. Sohhytec SA specializes in technologies related to green hydrogen and energy transition solutions. They work on the development and integration of innovative systems for hydrogen production, particularly through electrolysis, which is a process powered by renewable energy sources.

TKIL using Sohhytec SA, intends to venture into manufacture of green hydrogen. TKIL is in talks with Oil Marketing Companies in India to explore retailing of green hydrogen which it will produce.

According to Vivek Bhatia, the company’s CEO, TKIL is capable of producing pressurised hydrogen and establishing the infrastructure needed for vehicle storage and fuelling.
