Stellantis, NVIDIA and Uber join forces for level-4 robotaxi roll-out
Press Release, 30 October 2025
Automaker Stellantis N.V. has teamed up with NVIDIA Corporation and Uber Technologies, Inc. (joined by Foxconn Technology Group) to advance their ambitions in driverless mobility by developing and deploying Level 4 (robot-driven) autonomous vehicles globally. The partnership aligns each participant’s strengths — Stellantis will manufacture vehicles using its AV-Ready platforms (notably the K0 medium-van and STLA Small) integrated with NVIDIA’s DriveOS and DRIVE AV software running on the DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 architecture. Foxconn will provide hardware and integration support, while Uber will bring operational deployment through its ride-hailing network.
According to the announcements, Uber aims to deploy a minimum of 5,000 of the Stellantis-built autonomous vehicles in select cities (initially in the U.S.) with mass production (Start of Production) slated for 2028. Longer term, Uber and NVIDIA envision scaling the network to tens of thousands of robotaxis worldwide, leveraging NVIDIA’s full stack AI architecture to support operation, safety and fleet-scale data management. For the automotive and mobility industry, this marks a substantial step toward commercialising driverless ride-services, offering promises of safer, more flexible and cost-efficient transportation — and positioning the trio to shape the next generation of urban mobility.
