SoundHound AI and Parkopedia brings voice-powered parking booking and payment to cars

Press Release, 26 November 2025

Automotive conversational-AI specialist SoundHound AI has joined forces with parking-data leader Parkopedia to unveil an in-vehicle voice agent that enables drivers to find, reserve and pay for parking spots using only their voice, directly through their car’s infotainment system. The collaboration taps into Parkopedia’s global database of over 90 million spaces across more than 20,000 cities, and integrates it with SoundHound’s voice-commerce platform to deliver real-time availability, pricing comparisons and reservation options on the fly.

With the new system, a driver might say: “Navigate me to Grand Central Market, LA,” and the assistant would respond: “Parking looks busy at Grand Central Market. Would you like me to find available parking near your destination?” From there the system shows nearby lots, the cost and available payment options, reserves the spot and completes the payment—all via voice. Parkopedia’s CPO, Duncan Licence, emphasised that parking has long been a pain-point in driving, and this voice-powered solution aims to remove friction, boost convenience and enhance safety on the road. Meanwhile, SoundHound’s COO, Michael Zagorsek, called this a natural step of voice commerce in the vehicle—moving beyond food ordering and into essential mobility services.

The two companies say the new agent will debut on-the-road via partner vehicles, and will be officially showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. By embedding parking search, booking and payment into the in-car voice experience, the partnership aims to make everyday driving tasks simpler, smarter and more connected.
