Sentry & TruckerCloud team up to boost trucking safety and speed up claims

Sentry Insurance and TruckerCloud have launched a partnership aimed at transforming how commercial fleets handle safety and claims. Under the new collaboration, trucking operations that opt in can share telematics data already captured by their on-board systems everything from braking patterns to following distance and speed. That data flows in real time to Sentry, enabling faster insights, more proactive safety coaching and accelerated claims resolution.

By tapping into TruckerCloud’s platform compatible with over 100 telematics systems like Motive, Samsara and Lytx Sentry can kick off claims handling hours or even days ahead of the traditional schedule. This means quicker support for drivers and fleets, less downtime, reduced risk of lawsuits, and a smoother flow of goods. Fleets that participate may also see premium discounts of up to ~5% as they build safer driving records.

Beyond cost savings, the partnership emphasizes a safety-first culture. Real-time alerts and footage from driver-facing cameras are used to coach behaviors such as smoother braking and fewer hard turns. Studies cited by Sentry suggest that in nearly half of incidents captured by driver-facing video, the driver was cleared—underscoring how valuable the data can be.
