Pony.ai has turbocharged the deployment of its seventh-gen Robotaxis—producing over 200 units in just two months and steering toward a 1,000-vehicle fleet by year-end. The company’s Q2 numbers show surging robotaxi revenues and high demand, while its Gen-7 vehicles roll out across China’s top-tier cities—and beyond.
Pony.ai, in last two months has churned out over 200 Gen-7 Robotaxis, bringing its active fleet to more than 500 vehicles. With that momentum, Pony.ai is on track to hit its goal of 1,000 units deployed by the end of 2025—marking a major shift from testing to mass-market readiness.
What’s driving the surge? Cost efficiency and performance. The Gen-7 system uses 100% automotive-grade components, slashing hardware costs by 70% compared to previous generations. Built on Pony.ai’s “world model + virtual driver” architecture, the robotaxis boast a fleet-wide sensor suite, 360° redundant perception, and proprietary sensor self-cleaning tech—making them tougher in adverse weather and challenging environments.
Pony.ai’s expansion isn’t just about quantity—it’s also strategic. The company now operates fully driverless robotaxi services across all four Chinese Tier-1 cities: Beijing, Shanghai (Pudong), Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Its vehicles run 24/7, even during storms, demonstrating robust reliability and market readiness.
Further, Pony.ai is laying global groundwork—partnering with Dubai’s RTA for trials, expanding to Seoul, and testing in Luxembourg. It’s robotaxi revenue is also climbing, Q2 saw fare income surge by nearly 158% year-on-year, signaling growing ridership and commercial traction.
